HACM Expects to Operate Normally For the Next Several Weeks Despite Federal Government Shutdown

The Housing Authority of the City of Madera (HACM) expects to continue its normal operations, providing full services, paying landlords, vendors and employees over the next several weeks

January payments for HACM Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program for the landlords are in place and went out at the beginning of the month. HUD has informed us that February payments are expected to go out on time as well. It is not clear at this time that HUD will have adequate resources for March payments should be the government shutdown occur again.

HACM receives most of its funding from the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which is one of the federal branches directly affected by the shutdown. We continue to stay optimistic and trust that the shutdown will be resolved before it starts impacting our agency and the people it serves.

As always Madera Housing Authority thanks you for your continued support and cooperation.
